We will enable clients to begin District Court proceedings by serving a notice to the debtor that details all the facts surrounding the debt and the actions that will be taken if the funds are not repaid immediately.
If payment is not forthcoming then a creditor is entitled to take legal action if the money is not repaid within a certain period following the sending of a letter from the creditor.
Clients can pursue a debt recovery claim in the District Court providing the debts amount to €15,000 or less. Should the amount be higher, the claim will have to be taken up in the Circuit or High Court.

Will I have to go to court to recover my debt?
If the debtor pays you within 10 days of being served their notice, district court proceedings will not be necessary.
